A lifelong resident of Fort Worth, Mr. Dewar is a Vice President and North Texas Infrastructure Division Manager at Freese and Nichols, Inc., an 800-person engineering, architecture, and planning firm headquartered in Fort Worth. As Division Manager, Mr. Dewar oversees transportation, stormwater, and urban planning and design groups in North Texas. With 29 years of experience, Mr. Dewar has led many high-profile projects, including the DFW Airport Skylink Automated People Mover, the Phyllis Tilley Memorial Pedestrian Bridge, and the Clearfork Main Street Bridge.

Mr. Dewar currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Southeast Fort Worth, Inc., and as President of the Board of the American Council of Engineering Companies, Tarrant County chapter. He has also served on the board of the E.R. Van Zandt Southwest YMCA.

Mr. Dewar received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. John is married to his wife of 29 years, Sheri Dewar, a FWISD teacher, and has three children.
