Jesse Herrera is the Founder & Chief Visionary of Urban Theory. A designer, construction manager, public real estate developer, and educator by experience Jesse gained an early appreciation of the interdisciplinary, multi-faceted approach needed to solve complicated problems.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, he spent his early years as a gang member. After a near death experience, he left the life behind and pursued his education, becoming the first in his family to graduate from college. As a former gang member, he witnessed the impact of social isolation and the value of the question why.
Charged by the desire to understand the nuances and inner working of cities, Jesse has embarked on multiple research trips to discover the solutions being used to improve wellbeing and address today's most pressing urban challenges. These insights, in addition to his life experiences and the foundation of his framework to understand the underlying causes of today's challenges and design impact driven solutions.
